Lake Owen Picnic Grounds
Enjoy a day of swimming, fishing and barbecuing at the Lake Owen Picnic Grounds. Just a 3 mile drive from Drummond on N. Lake Owen Drive (directly across Highway 63 from Bear Country Sporting Goods and the Black Bear Inn) in the Chequamegon/Nicolet National Forest. The picnic grounds includes several picnic tables and an enclosed facility with a cooking fireplace inside. Plus, a sandy beach right on Lake Owen. There is a $5 per day per vehicle fee to use the picnic grounds and you pay right there at the picnic grounds. The $5 fees help the Chequamegon National Forest Service maintain the picnic grounds. The Seasonal Pass is only $20 and Golden Age Passport is free. The beach area is very clean and the swimming area is marked now with ropes and floats. And the "outdoor toilets" are in a cement building and very clean. Hey, bring your own chair, a book, a picnic lunch and for the entry fee you cannot get a better view or deal. Very nice and close to Drummond.
